Curtis Vineyard
2016 Chenin Blanc
Chenin Blanc, also known as Pineau de la Loire in France, is a grape common in the Loire Valley where, because of its high acidity, is used in the Loire Sparkling Wines.
In California, it is widely grown and often used in combination with other grapes for ordinary table wine. When carefully cultivated, as in the Curtis Vineyard, it can produce a stand-alone aromatic wine of interesting complexity.
Winemaker’s comment: Curtis Vineyard located 4 miles north of Los Olivos on Foxen Canyon Road is one of the few sources for Chenin Blanc in Santa Barbara County. This dry crisp wine has aromas of Quince and tastes of Pear.
